Formed late 2010 in Waterford, indie-rock/blues/soul band Kodakid have been busy gathering acclaim ever since, including:

  • MRU Single of the Year 2012 for their fourth single, Portis.
  • B.P. Fallon's Band of the Week (Nov 2012)
  • Golden Plec (“Kodakid could well be one of the biggest things to come out of the Irish music scene in a long time” )

The band have played main support to The Minutes, Delorentos and The Noisettes (Manchester), while they've headlined Spraoi's opening night, played the Festival of Fires and, as mentioned, Indiependence.

Kodakid's members are Kev Power (vocals), Alex Soikans (Lead Guitar), John Duignan (Bass) and Tony Browne (Drums). Their collective influences include Black Keys, Stone Roses, Led Zeppelin.

Their fourth single release, Portis, in October 2012 received MRU’s single of the year award, while their debut album is scheduled for release this summer.
